Text tags are a great way for students to interact with the text and comprehend what they read without going crazy and highlighting everything!  They are encouraged to use these during tests, when they read an article in class for an assignment, and even when they read books.  Text tags can also be used on sticky notes (particularly if it is a book that does not belong to you), and even MyOn has tools that allow you to annotate as well.
